Some experts warn of a “twindemic,” with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the onset of influenza overlapping here in the Northern Hemisphere. To keep people healthy and not overload the health care system, experts say getting a flu vaccine this year is more important than ever.
On the Mayo Clinic Q&A podcast, Dr. Gregory Poland, an infectious diseases expert and head of Mayo Clinic's Vaccine Research Group, discusses flu vaccinations and shares some good news from the Southern Hemisphere's flu season.

Dr. Gonzalez earned her medical degree via Fifth Pathway Certification from New York Medical College, in Valhalla, NY.
After training at New York Medical College, she completed a Family Medicine Internship at University of Connecticut and afterwards went on to complete Psychiatry Residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA where she served as Chief Resident at the VA Medical Center in Seattle, WA during her last year in training. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
