Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the Multi-Society Task Force on colon cancer encourage patients to start screening at age 50 unless they have other risk factors like family history or inflammatory diseases that could predispose them to colon cancer.

Dr. Gonzalez earned her medical degree via Fifth Pathway Certification from New York Medical College, in Valhalla, NY.
After training at New York Medical College, she completed a Family Medicine Internship at University of Connecticut and afterwards went on to complete Psychiatry Residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA where she served as Chief Resident at the VA Medical Center in Seattle, WA during her last year in training. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
